They can also help you avoid injury, increase your range of motion, and improve your muscle tone. Warm-up exercises also loosen up your muscles and prepare your body for exercise. If you don’t warm up first, then you won’t be as comfortable or able to enjoy your swim.

Doing a quick warmup will help improve your performance. It will also reduce the risk of injury and increase your cardiovascular endurance. Swimming is a great way to stay fit and healthy, but before you jump in the water, it’s important to warm up your muscles. Here are three of the best warmup exercises for swimming.

Arm circles

This exercise can help loosen up your shoulders and back so that you’re ready for a full-body swim. Turn your palms forward so that they face each other, then make big circles with your arms as wide as possible. Do this for about five minutes before going into the pool.

Shoulder rolls

This helps loosen up your shoulders so they’re ready for some serious work. Especially once you start swimming laps! Roll them forward and backward —you don’t need any momentum here! Do this for about 15 seconds total on both sides of your body (that’s right—30 seconds total).

Butt kicks

This is another great way to warm up your hips and thighs. It also helps to get the blood flowing through your lower body. As a result, your muscles are looser when you start doing laps. Just kick your feet back and forth with no effort at all, like you’re lazily kicking back in an easy chair at home (but make sure not to kick too hard!). Do this for about 30 seconds.
